The Passages Collection of eco-friendly caskets are hand crafted by skilled weavers. They are suitable for green burial and clean cremation. Each casket features convenient handles for carrying, along with a natural cotton interior lining, pillow and shroud. The caskets are simple to close.
Your purchase of a Passages Collection casket has enormous benefits to rural populations. This cottage industry provides badly needed seasonal income for families in rural communities. The bamboo plants are fast growing, easy to harvest and require no fertilizers. They also replenish fertility in depleted soils in addition providing habitats for birds and insects.
The bamboo used to produce our caskets is grown and harvested by the villagers that actually make the caskets. This bamboo is not a source of food for threatened panda populations.
Since the caskets are handmade, they may vary slightly in color and appearance. Each casket has a flat underside to provide added strength and simplify transfer into the cremation retort.
Each casket is weight tested to 300 lbs.

Bamboo Urns
Handcrafted using 3/4" bamboo plywood which is a sustainable and rapidly renewable resource. Each urn features a Green certified and LEED compliant(Leadership In Energy and Environmental Design) water based finish. Base affixes with recycled steel screws.

Eco-Friendly Scattering Tubes
The Passages Collection of Scattering Tubes are designed and engineered to simplify the scattering process. They are durable, dignified and simple to use. Each Tube features a convenient removable lid and an industry-first, perforated "push in" tab that opens easily prior to scattering. They contain no metal or plastic components and can be recycled after scattering.

Earthurn® Memory Chest Inserts
The environmentally-friendly and biodegradable Earthurn Memory Chest Inserts are designed to fit into most Memory Chest Urns (Chest sold separately). Please make note of the dimensions of the insert that comes with your Memory Chest Urns to ensure a proper fit of the Earthurn Memory Chest Insert. Each insert is suitable for biodegradable burial, opens easily for scattering, or can be kept as a beautiful interior container for the chest.

The Passages Salt Urns are individually hand-crafted by skilled artisans from solid blocks of Himalayan Rock Salt. The urns will dissolve within 4 hours, when placed in water.
